Did you know you can wash your face with honey? Not only is it anti-bacterial and antimicrobial, it’s also super moisturizing! Honey fades scars and soaks up any excess acne causing oils, helping to prevent further scaring! Honey face washes are a rising trend, so I’ve been trying it out. It is a gift from the gods! I prefer to add baking soda to my honey face wash/mask, which helps to exfoliate and remove dead skin cells without causing much irritation. Keep reading for instructions!

Ingredients

1 teaspoon honey (look for raw or unpasteurized honey)

½ teaspoon baking soda

Directions

1. Starting with a dry or damp face, you can mix the honey and baking soda together by rubbing it together in your hands.

2. Apply the mixture to your face, massaging in circular motions for a minute.

3. To use as a face mask, leave the mixture on for 15-20 minutes. If you are using it as a face wash, try to allow it to sit for a moment before washing it off.

4. Rinse off gently with warm water.

Afterwards, you face will feel soft, clean and refreshed. Baking soda is highly alkaline so I recommend using a toner afterwards to balance your pH level. Here is the link to my simple toner recipe that will restore your pH. You most likely already have all the ingredients in your home!
