This face mask is very quick and simple to mix up and leaves your skin tight, soft and glowing. The ingredients used are yogurt, matcha green tea powder and fresh lemon juice (optional), which all have many great benefits for your skin. It only requires 15-20 minutes wait and comes off easily with warm water.

Ingredients

1 tablespoon yogurt

1 teaspoon matcha green tea powder

¼ lemon, squeezed (optional)

Time

15-20 mins

Yogurt used topically moisturizes skin, fights acne and reduces wrinkles, fine lines and dark circles. It can fade blemishes and pigmentation and is known to treat skin infections and soothe a sun burn.

Matcha green tea powder has many anti-inflammatory properties which reduce redness, can help with acne problems and soothe the skin. It can prevent premature aging, fight excess oil production, even out your skin tone, and combat under eye circles.

Lemons are antibacterial, clearing dirt and bacteria from the surface of the skin which can help fight acne and reduce excess oil. They are full of vitamin C and citric acid which can help brighten your skin overtime. It is highly recommended that you DO NOT use it topically before sun exposure.

Although the recipe calls for lemon juice, I have found myself without it multiple times and have applied the face mask without it. Although the lemon juice adds extra benefits, it still gives the same great feel. If you are going into the sun after using this face mask, refrain from adding in the lemon juice and enjoy the benefits of the yogurt and matcha powder.

The production of this face mask is easy and fun. Mix up all the ingredients until it reaches an even constancy and admire the light green color and subtle, calming scent. I always use Greek yogurt in my face masks and its much thicker and easier to apply. After applying the mask, it is best to sit still, relax and try not to move your face. Masks usually harden and form to your face, while smiling, laughing or talking can cause it to pull on your skin and reduce the benefits of the face mask. Try to choose a comfortable position for your head to rest to get the most out of this mask.

After waiting 15-20 minutes rinse of the mask with warm water, gently rubbing in small, circular motions. Instantly you will feel the elasticity in your face bow to the powers of face masks. My face was instantly firmer and very soft. I couldn’t stop toughing my face once it dried but I would recommend you don’t tough your face too much as your hands have many oils which can cause acne.

All in all I love the way the mask made my face feel. It’s very simple to make and the ingredients were easily attainable. The lovely colored mask was easily applied thanks to its thick, smooth texture and came off easily leaving my skin soft, firm and glowing.
